What’s the definition for adequately?
Adequately? Is it a;good enough in quality. Wait..no, no it’s b. Lacking the quality or quantity required. Or c..maybe d?
It’s really hard learning a new language. Especially one that has so many rules. When we first came to the U.S. I was terrified. I actually thought that the whole world knew Spanish. The first time I heard a person talk English, I was having a panic attack!
I was really fascinated by the language. I was so happy when it was my first day of school. That changed when I took my first step to my classroom. I had one of those blank faces when you have no single clue on what’s going on. Then something came to help me.
ESL. It’s a program that helps kids learn English. They showed me some things I use today to speak, write, and read. It was fun at first, but not until they gave me a big test to see if I actually knew English. From all the blood, sweat, and maybe some tears I made it.
I have to admit. It was a struggle at first, but with practice and some help; it wasn’t impossible. I’m very proud. I think I’m prouder than my mom! It was a good thing I never gave up.
